An Allergic Child’s Week of Suppers: Yes, He Can Eat it!

After I tell people everything Little Guy is allergic to, one of the most common questions is “What does he eat?”. This question is purely out of curiosity. I’ve found people are baffled at the thought of having such a limited diet. I must admit, I felt that way when we started this whole journey. What WAS he going to eat besides fruits, veggies, and plain meat. After all, how appetizing is such a diet? Not very, even for an adult.

Since this question is frequently asked, I thought I would list our planned suppers for this week. You may be surprised that there are some very typical toddler-friendly meals on here.

Sunday:  Lunch: Salad Supper: Pancakes, Bacon, Banana

Monday: Tacos

Tuesday:  Stir-fry Chicken and Cucumber in Coconut Oil, Rice, and Apple

Wednesday: Meatloaf, Carrots, Baked Potato

Thursday: Lemon Pepper Fish, Fries, Banana

Friday: Porkchops, rice, Peas, Apples

Saturday: Lunch: Chicken stir-fry, Rice, Pears Supper: Shepherd’s Pie

Sunday: Lunch: Hotdogs, Baked Beans, Chips Supper: Rotisserie Chicken, Sautéed Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes

Next week on our menu includes mac-n-cheese, meatballs, and tator-tot casserole. So, we do eat pretty healthy in this house. Despite following a food allergy diet, my kiddo still gets kid friendly foods. And in case you’re wondering, he does love fish and salad which is weird, I know.

  1. That’s a great menu. We could probably make stir-fry work, too.
